Youth Winter Training

Forging season has arrived! Successes next spring are earned this winter!

To help achieve our goals, we are excited to announce this winter we will be partnering back up with Litchfield Hills Fitness to provide us with a winter home and all the toys to enhance the training of our athletes. Check them out! This partnership means that all athletes who sign up for programming will receive a highly discounted membership to Litchfield Hills Fitness, which can be used anytime during LHF operating hours (a great value to us!). This membership will run from the start of the program (12/2 to completion on February 27th).

Please review these important policies:

  • Financial Aid: If you plan to apply for financial aid, DO NOT use the link below to sign up. Use THIS LINK to start the FINANCIAL AID PROCESS. Again, do NOT use the links below if you will apply for FINANCIAL AID.

  • Registration Policy: We are guests at Litchfield Hills Fitness. All payments must be received before an athlete can join practice. Additionally, do not register at the last minute. Due to registration processing time, there will be a delay between registration with LHRC and access to the Litchfield Hills Fitness facility (i.e., you will not be able to access the gym until a few days after you register) so you risk not practicing on 11/27 if you sign up 11/26.

  • Varsity/ Novice: If you register before November 15th, your membership will start on the 16th. All following registrations will take ~48 hours to process in the gym system.

  • We are guests of Litchfield Fitness and will follow all their policies. Additionally, you will be representing LHRC anytime you are in the gym. The expectation is polite, focused athletes who are there with a purpose, not to loiter. Failure to do so will mean losing training days, suspension from the team, or being banned from the gym.

  • If your school and drive require you to get there later, that is not a problem; just communicate and plan with Coach.

Our Youth winter training program will focus on mobility development, building functional strength, and improving rowing fitness. We will have a full array of training options to make our athletes more explosive and more knowledgeable about rowing. New high school athletes are welcome!

  • Includes Litchfield Hills Fitness membership, which gives you the ability to attend any class they offer and take advantage of the gym during operational hours any day.

8th grade
1/6 - 2/26
M/W/F 3:25pm - 5:00pm
Our 8th grade winter training is designed to develop young athletes’ understanding and techniques of cross-training for rowing. Athletes will learn proper technique for body weight work, be introduced to lifting form at light weights, receive more hands-on teaching, and increase their knowledge on the sport of rowing.





Any parents who wish to workout while their athlete does can speak to LHF and get our discounted rate!
