Masters (Adult) Rowing - Fall 2024

Fall is beautiful. Let’s get you outside enjoying the beauty of the season on the lake! We have rowing programs for adults of all ages, skills, and desires. Scroll down to learn all the wonderful ways we can get you rowing!

All athletes must have a USRowing Membership: SIGN UP Basic for non-racers; look at Championship if you plan to race. Make sure to make yourself a member of Litchfield Hills Rowing Club.

Masters Competitive/JV
For athletes with experience who want to train in a more intensive practice with greater coaching and a strong team environment. Competitive Masters are expected to race and JV is encouraged too.
Cost: $650 SIGN UP!
Practices run M/T/Th/F from 6:00-7:30am and Saturday from 7:30-9:00am. Dates: 8/22-10/20.
Plan to arrive by 5:50 so we can take the best advantage of water time.

Rec Row
For athletes who just want to get on the lake, enjoy a beautiful Bantam sunset, and still power the boat through the water with some technical focus. (Program runs with Intermediate)
Cost: $290 SIGN UP!
Practices run M/T/Th from 6:10-7:40pm. Dates: 8/26-9/26.

Adult Intermediate
For athletes who have completed Learn-to-Row and want a quicker teaching pace with the same hands-on style as you master your rowing technique. (Program will run with Rec)

Adult Learn-to-Row
No more excuses! There is no time like the present to get out on the water and tackle a new challenge!

Drop-in/ Private Lesson Registration
Drop-ins are welcome for any adult program!
For athletes who desire the most flexibility. LHRC encourages athletes to get on the water, even if you can’t commit to an entire program. We offer drop-ins to row with others during our programs as well as private lessons with our talented coaching staff to further your technique or to get in a boat for the first time!

For drop-in, please Venmo $25 to @LitchfieldHillsRowingClub before your attended practice. Cash/ check also accepted.

Regattas
(Masters/ JV/ those who want a challenge and are ready)

Head of the Riverfront Regatta (Hartford, CT, Sunday, Oct 6th, Full day)

Head of the Housatonic* (Shelton, CT, Sunday, Oct 13th, Full day)

Head of the Charles (Boston, MA, Oct 18-20th, Overnight, for selected athletes only)

Head of the Fish (Saratoga Springs, NY, Oct 26-27th, Overnight)

*We have teamed up with Yale New Haven to help run the Head of the Housatonic. We will need volunteers on the day of the regatta. We hope all competitive and rec athletes will volunteer some time. It will not affect your racing!

All athletes need to attend practice prepared with:
•athletic attire that is not loose or baggy
•plenty of layers for the fall weather
•a bag containing clothes for after practice (we are a water sport you will get wet in various ways)
•a snack for after practice
•hat, sunglasses, sunblock
•at least 1 liter of water in a water bottle covered by a sock to protect our equipment. LHRC does not have running water.
